> Where to play VR around Sacramento in 2026, city by city: Rocklin, Roseville, Rancho Cordova, Carmichael and Downtown. Which venue fits groups, kids, parties and current specials.

The Sacramento area has a real virtual reality scene, and most of it sits in the suburbs, where there's room for big arenas. Here's a quick, honest guide to where to play VR around Sacramento in 2026, and which kind of venue fits your group. Prices and hours change, so check each venue before you go.

## Quick answer: which VR venue fits you?

        - **Walk-anywhere, free-roam VR for up to 8 players:** Nexus Lounge & VR in Rocklin, the area's Zero Latency venue.

        - **A room-scale game library:** HEROES VR Adventures in Roseville.

        - **Full-body tracking and licensed worlds:** Sandbox VR in Downtown Sacramento.

        - **VR plus golf simulators:** Surge VR Arena & Golf Lounge in Carmichael.

        - **Budget-friendly free-walk VR and parties:** Zion VR and PlayVerse VR in Rancho Cordova.

## Rocklin: Nexus Lounge & VR

[Nexus Lounge & VR](/experiences) is a 6,400 sq ft VR lounge, bar & cafe and event center at 6661 Blue Oaks Blvd in Rocklin, five minutes from Roseville. It's the Sacramento area's **Zero Latency** location: you walk freely through a warehouse-scale arena with up to 8 friends, with no wires and no standing in one spot.

        - **Games:** Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine VR (with the hardcore Threat: Lethal mode), Undead Arena, Outbreak, Far Cry VR, Haunted, Sol Raiders and more.

        - **For families:** Hero Zone VR, short co-op games for kids and parents.

        - **Also:** VR escape rooms, a beer & wine bar and cafe, and parties for up to 100 guests.

        - **Price:** from $15 per player.

**Current specials:** Haunted Halloween on Oct 30–31 is $5 per player when booked by Oct 24 ($10 at the door). All October, there are Zero Latency combo deals. See every deal on the [VR Specials & Deals](/specials) page.

## Roseville

**HEROES VR Adventures** (Taylor Road) offers room-scale VR with 50+ games, a free-roam arena for up to six players, VR escape rooms and a Junior program for young kids. **Sandbox VR** has announced a Roseville Galleria location opening January 2027.

## Rancho Cordova

**Zion VR** and **PlayVerse VR** both offer free-walk VR, arcade-style VR and birthday parties east of downtown.

## Carmichael

**Surge VR Arena & Golf Lounge** combines a free-roam VR arena with golf simulators and a bar.

## Downtown Sacramento

**Sandbox VR** at Downtown Commons uses full-body tracking and haptic vests, with licensed worlds such as Squid Game and Stranger Things.

## Free-roam vs. room-scale VR: what's the difference?

**Room-scale VR** gives each player a personal play bay. **Free-roam VR** puts your whole group in one big shared arena where you physically walk, duck and explore together. For groups, parties and team building, free-roam is the bigger "wow".
